Immediately Following the Bell Harbor Rendezvous

We are again going to have a cruise the week after the Bell Harbor Rendezvous, leaving Bell Street Marina on Monday, June 17, after the show, and ending on Sunday, June 23 in Tacoma.

We will cruise to Gig Harbor, Olympia, Jarrell Cove, Longbranch and Tacoma.

You are welcome to join us for all of the cruise, or only a portion if you prefer.

Below is the itinerary.

Please register on the CYA website TODAY, and make your moorage arrangements separately, following the instructions that appear below. Space is very limited! Please note that the registration fee on the CYA website is PER PERSON.

The below information will be updated regularly as cruise details are put in place. Please check back regularly.

After you register for the event on the CYA website, you will need to make your own individual reservations and make payment for moorage at Gig Harbor, Olympia and Tacoma right away. Please do this asap.

We are still in the midst of planning our organized activities and meals, and will let you know further details as they are available.

Feel free to join us for all or part of the cruise, as you prefer. Some of you have already indicated that you will be joining us for only a portion of the cruise. Please let us know when you register if this is the case, and where/when you will be leaving the cruise so we can manage our moorage arrangements.

BELL HARBOR: Bell Harbor Marina

Our cruise begins Monday morning immediately following the Bell Street Harbor Rendezvous. Make sure to extend your Bell Harbor moorage reservation to include Sunday night. Relax after the show and enjoy a brief respite before our cruise begins.

Arrival: Monday, June 17

Departure: Tuesday, June 18 Time: 0900 29 NM to Olympia

Welcome to Gig Harbor, one of the most perfectly protected harbors in Puget Sound, and one of the most charming towns. The entrance to Gig Harbor is narrow, especially at low tide, so exercise caution. Maintain a mid-channel course around the end of the spit.

We have moorage reserved at Arabella’s Landing in Gig Harbor.

Please reserve and pay for your individual slip in advance on the Arabella’s Landing Marina website: www.arabellaslanding.com. Please make your reservations ASAP.

Follow the steps to make a slip reservation and provide payment for the moorage

You will make your individual reservation directly on the Marina’s website and you will be able to view slips held, but not yet reserved by another participant. Any cancellations will be refunded provided you cancel at least 72 hours prior to our arrival date, less a $10 processing fee.

Check in time: 1 PM. Check out: 11 AM.

There are myriad good restaurants available, from casual to elegant.

Chuck and Linda Barbo aboard Blue Peter have graciously offered to host our group for a BYOB co*cktail party aboard from 5:00 PM to 6:45 PM on Monday, June 17. Please bring your choice of beverage plus an appetizer to share.

Enjoy dinner on your own. You might want to consider dining at one of the fabulous local restaurants.

OLYMPIA: Swantown Marina, Port of Olympia

Two Nights

Arrival: Tuesday, June 18

Departure: Thursday, June 20 Time: 0930 16 NM to Jarrell Cove

Welcome to Olympia, Washington State’s capitol and a lovely small town.

Use the Group Code to make your moorage reservation directly on the Swantown Marina website, www.swantownmarina.com. Enter your arrival and departure dates and the length, beam and draft of your boat. Choose either 120V/Single 30 Amp or 120V/Single 50 Amp power depending upon your electrical needs. They have limited 50A pedestals available, but will try to accommodate your needs to the best of their ability. Scroll to the offer: Classic Yacht Association June 2024 and click Select. At a later point in the reservation, if needed, you can add specific requests for a certain type of space, and the marina will try to accommodate your request as best as possible.

Click the bright green Start Booking button to continue your booking.

Once you have completed your booking, you will receive confirmation of your booking and slip assignment. You will be assigned to the most optimal slip for your size vessel. CYA boats will be grouped together automatically, to the extent possible.

If you need to make adjustments to your slip assignment after booking, give the marina office a call at the number above. Please make your reservations ASAP. Our reserved slips will be released to the general public after June 1, but you should make your reservation now. If you are unable to make your reservation online, please call 360-528-8049 so they can help you make your reservation over the phone.

We have reserved a block of 36 ft, 40 ft 50 ft and 50+ ft slips, and have paid a small non-refundable reservation fee to do so, which will be passed along to each participant. Please make your reservation and provide payment for your individual slip on the Swantown website above. Please note that you may not moor in a slip that is shorter than the actual overall length of your vessel. No overhang is allowed in the marina.

Restrooms, showers and laundry are available in the marina. There are three restaurants on the port property within a five minute walk of the marina. Cancellations must be made at least 14 days in advance of the arrival date.

We will spend two nights in Olympia, giving you ample time to explore. There are lots of fun things to do in Olympia. JARRELL COVE: Jarrell Cove Marine State Park

One Night

Arrival: Thursday, June 20

Departure: Friday, June 21 Time: 1000 14 NM to Longbranch

We will be mooring at Jarrell Cove Marine State Park, on the northwest end of Hartstine Island. The park includes 650’ dock space. This large, attractive park is unable to accept actual reservations, but they know we are coming and they are confident we will be able to moor. Rafting is encouraged. 30 amp power is available on the southern dock. There are also 14 mooring buoys, available for vessels 45 feet or under. Restrooms, showers, picnic shelters. Clean and well maintained. Moorage $.75/ft on the dock; $15 for moorage buoy. Payable on site or using your WA State Discover Pass or annual Moorage Buoy pass. Groceries and fuel are available at nearby Jarrell’s Cove Marina.

LONGBRANCH: Longbranch Improvement Club Marina

Arrival: Friday, June 21

Departure: Saturday, June 22 Time: 0900 29 NM to Tacoma

No official reservations are possible at Longbranch due to the terms of their DNR lease, but they know we are coming, and they feel confident that our group will have space to moor. They will make it work. They have 760’ of side tie dock space. Rafting is encouraged. The guest moorage bull rails are painted yellow. 30 amp ELCI protected power, water, ice and garbage drop. For those that prefer to anchor, Filucy Bay has good holding over a mud bottom. The view of Mt. Rainer from the entrance of the bay is stunning.

We will be moored at Dock Street Marina, immediately adjacent to the Museum of Glass. We have a block of slips reserved. Please call Sherry at Dock Street Marina to reserve and pay for your individual slip at the phone number above. Identify yourself as part of the Classic Yacht Association PNW South Sound Cruise. They don’t use a website for reservations.
