Buyer's Guide | Fleet Feet

By Mandy Wahl, Tom Rivett, Evan Matsumoto Updated on

Trying to find the best running shoe is tough, trying to find one when your feet have more volume or width is even tougher. You are not alone, however. Between 20-30% of the people who shopped at Fleet Feet in the past year purchased a wide width shoe.

Luckily, shoe companies are coming out with more shoe models with wide toe boxes and more width options than ever before.

Runners who need wide running shoes have a couple of options: find a pair that comes in wide sizing (typically identified as D for women or 2E for men) or try out standard running shoes designed with more room in the toe box. Some runners on the line between standard and wide sizing might also benefit from lacing their shoes differently to get a more comfortable fit.At Fleet Feet we have over 45 years of experience outfitting millions of runners and walkers for running shoes with feet in all shapes and sizes. We used this experience, as well as talking with shoe manufacturers and trying out the shoes ourselves, to cultivate this list of the best running shoes for wide feet.

Fitting Tip - if your foot hangs over the rubber outsole of the shoe, you may want to look for a wider shoe.

So whether you have a high-volume foot, suffer from bunions or just have wide feet, here are some running shoes that can give you a better fit:
